The Chemicals Working Group (chaired by Professor Yano Yuji of Ryutsu Keizai University), established within the Physical Internet Realization Conference led by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, announced today, December 23, that it conducted a demonstration experiment of joint logistics on the Yokkaichi-Ichihara, Chukyo-Hokuriku, and Ichihara-Tohoku routes from September to December 2024, and confirmed effects such as improved truck loading rates and reduced CO2 emissions.
The Chemicals Working Group currently includes 78 organizations, mainly shippers and logistics companies, the Japan Chemical Industry Association, the Petrochemical Industry Association, and relevant departments of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, with Tosoh serving as the secretariat together with the Mitsubishi Chemical Group * , Mitsui Chemicals, Inc., and Toray Industries, Inc.
